From 14 to 19 August 2026, the CivicArt community gathered in the mountains of Kazbegi, Georgia, for the project’s final networking meeting. GergArt hosted the meeting, which brought together 24 youth workers, artists and partner representatives from Ukraine, Georgia, Germany and Spain.
The first day was dedicated to reconnecting. The group had not met since the CivicArt Lab training in Alicante in February.
On the second day, the Georgian and Ukrainian teams presented the 14 local activities they had carried out in their communities since the training: exhibitions, a national student poster competition, a performance laboratory, an art residency, school programmes and workshops. Together, participants analysed these practices through the CivicArt Competence Landscape. They looked at which facilitation competences each activity drew on and what they want to develop further.
The following days belonged to the participants themselves. They led workshops for each other, and the group recorded video interviews about practising artivism in civic education. Eight of these videos are now available on the CivicArt YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@CivicArt
The meeting ended with a long-awaited step. After discussing it together, participants adopted the Founding Declaration and Statute of the CivicArt Alliance, a network of ambassadors for civic education through art. The Alliance has 16 founding members from four countries. Its purpose is to keep the connections and practices created through the project alive and growing after CivicArt ends.
Togetherness brought us here. Togetherness will take us forward.

How can you feel the rhythm of a city and turn it into art? That’s the question UNMUTE set out to answer during two days
