“Phoenixes in the Field of Jaguars” by Salome Bukia

July 18, 2026

As part of CivicArt’s local activities, artist Salome Bukia presented “Phoenixes in the Field of Jaguars” — an exhibition that brought together photography, installation, and mixed artistic practices to explore the intersections of memory, place, and lived experience.

The works reflected on how personal stories and collective memory overlap, coexist, and shape our understanding of both the past and the present. Rather than offering fixed interpretations, the exhibition created an open space for encounter — one where images, objects, and cultural expressions entered into dialogue with each other and with the viewer.

Visitors were invited to move through layered narratives, pausing to engage with works that resist easy categorisation and instead ask questions: about where we come from, what we carry with us, and how the places we inhabit — physically and emotionally — leave their mark on who we are.
