Workshop in Dedoplistskaro: Art, Citizenship and Togetherness

June 18, 2026

On June, 13th, a workshop on the theme of togetherness was held in Dedoplistskaro, Georgia, as part of the CivicArt project. The event brought together local young people to explore the role of civil society, active citizenship, and art as a tool for social expression and change.

Through interactive activities and discussions, participants reflected on the importance of civic engagement and shared their experiences and perspectives on issues affecting their communities. They also explored how art can bring people together around common values and ideas.

A central part of the workshop focused on collaborative artwork. Working in groups, participants used artistic expression to answer one key question: “What does togetherness mean to you?” Exchanging ideas and perspectives, they transformed their reflections into visual works using colours, shapes, and symbols. The collaboration between participants of different ages made the process especially meaningful.

The workshop also included a digital storytelling component, where participants created short videos exploring what unites the people of Dedoplistskaro. Each group approached the task in its own creative way, demonstrating the many forms through which a shared idea can be expressed.

The event concluded with a reflection session, during which participants shared their impressions and received symbolic gifts.

Special thanks to educational centre “Chveni Sivrtse” for providing the venue and supporting the implementation of this local initiative.
